Faces of Towerview with Steve Minor of Noble Renovation

September 1, 2021

Tell us about your company and what you do.

Noble Renovation is a residential remodeling business established in 2008 in Cary, North Carolina. We are licensed, insured, and specialize in the design and execution of building “higher” end remodeling projects. As the owner, I primarily focus on meeting new clients, preparing estimates and proposals to get new projects under contract. Another large part of my role is making sure current projects under construction are well managed.

How did you get started in your industry?

During the summertime of my college years, I did hard labor construction work, such as framing, roofing, and siding. After I graduated from college, I moved back to Houston, Texas, and was soon hired by Pulte Home Corporation as an Assistant Superintendent. Over my 11 years with Pulte, I held many different management roles and built approximately 350 homes. Experience is a great teacher and over time, I began to tap into my creative side of design and ideas to correct significant problems customers had with their homes. The remodeling side of our industry became more appealing, which led me to start my own business.

What is something about your business that most people do not know?

We’re very fortunate the Town of Cary provides us more work opportunities than we can get to, for this reason, we do not like to leave the city limits to manage projects outside of Cary or Morrisville that would require unnecessary commuting.

Where do you see your business in 5 years?

Great question, I hope to be able to mentor a couple of aspiring younger builders to allow for more growth. As a builder, we want to expand our services to larger projects, such as custom homes,- likely in the range of 550k-to-1.5 million-dollar designs. Remodeling is all about service, detail, vision, and ideas, we feel we are a great fit for custom home building.

Tell me about yourself?

My wife Jenny and I have been married 22 years and have been residents of Cary for 16 years. Jenny is a pharmacist, and we have two teenagers. Our son is attending UNC Charlotte and our daughter is a junior at Cary High School. Our family dog is named Major Minor. My family and I take joy in the journey of being Christians, many sports, football and golf in particular, and time together. I like a wide range of music, warmer weather, a glowing sunset, a flavorful steak dinner with friends, and a good cocktail on occasion. I also enjoy a good political conversation, sometimes a little too much. 😊

Other than work, what are you passionate about?

I am passionate about protecting and loving my family, employees, and clients. I am very determined to make our clients happy. It’s about the service! I strongly believe people need to take responsibility for their lives, but when a person needs help, our society needs to do a better job of stepping up doing the right thing. I am passionate about standing up for my faith and “old school” beliefs. I am passionate about limited government, holding up our great constitution, showing our love of country, and last but not least, not taking our blessing of “freedom” for granted.

What types of activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?

When I am not working, I enjoy gardening, a good golf tournament or football game on TV, time at the beach, and jogging with my wife.  I do a lot of reading of the news.

Why did you choose Towerview Office Suites James Jackson and how has working here helped your business?

We chose Towerview Suites for several reasons; one primary reason is the location. 140 Towerview is close to my home, and most importantly it’s close to most of our clients and future clients. We like the look and feel of the property, we like the shared resources of parking, lobby, kitchen, bathrooms, and conference room. It’s a perfect fit for a small business.
